Card Featuring My Monthly Hero Card Kit September 2018

Today I am showcasing the card I made using the My Monthly Hero Card Kit for September 2018. This Kit has a fall theme with images of Chinese Lantern Plants and pots and some very nice sentiments.

Here’s my card for today

Inspiration:

Fall colors obviously were my inspiration for this card. I wanted something warm but still colorful. The color combination certainly matches with the sentiment in this card I think.

Background:

I have been trying to work with some ink blended backgrounds lately. I thought this was a perfect opportunity for this project because my card needed some warm background to complement the image. I used Tim Holtz Distressed Oxide inks in colors Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey. I loved how these colors look like a sunset scene.

The Focal Point:

Images of the Chinese lantern plants from the My Monthly Hero Card Kit were my main focus for this card. I stamped one of the images from the stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Watercolor Paper. And colored the images using the Daniel Smith Watercolors that came in the Kit. I adhered one of the images on the color blended background panel with liquid glue. Another branch was added with foam tape for dimension.

The Sentiment:

The stamp set includes a few very nice sentiments. I took one of the sentiments that said: ” You bring color to my world” which was stamped directly on the background with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet black.

Finally, the panel was mounted on a card base that is made with 110 lb cardstock measuring 5 and a half inches tall and 4 and a quarter inches wide.

Here’s my final project. I am really happy with the outcome. What do you guys think? I am definitely going to make more cards using this card kit. There are so many ideas for this card kit in my head but due to a busy work schedule, I haven’t been able to create more cards.

Cards Featuring My Monthly Hero Card Kit August 2018

Hello. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you’re doing great. Today I am presenting my card I made using My Monthly Hero Card Kit for the month of August.

This card kit is coffee themed. Here’s my card for today. my monthly hero card kit august 2018

First I started by stamping the coffee stamp image from the Hero Arts Monthly Kit on a 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock twice using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them using Copic colors and then die cut the images using the coordinating dies that came in the kit. Added some shimmer on the cup and the plate using Wink Of Stella Glitter pen in clear. Then highlighted some streaks of white across with Gelly Roll Pen.

What Inspired me:

I usually look up on Pinterest for inspirations

like the color combination, or scenes.  I came across

this color combo that I really liked for this card. That’s why I colored the coffee cups in blue-green shades of Copics.

I even created my own stip of dusty pink paper with one of the color combinations to go with my color theme where I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set.

These were coffee cups so I wanted them to sit on a table. I had wood patterned pattern paper in my stash. I cut that with Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Circle Dies. Seems like I use these in almost every project. Arranged the table with the cups and the sentiment strip right above it using Foam Tapes. Then I cut the paper that came in the kit using the Simon Says Stamp‘s Stitched Rectangle Dies. But I wanted more of that teal in my card so I cut another pattern paper in similar color using the same die and arranged on the card that was a standard A2 size top folding panel on Simon Says Stamp Smoke Card Stock.

Another Card From the Same kit

I also attempted to create another card with the same kit.

This one is repeated stamping technique on the background with Copic colored images. A strip of cardstock colored with Copic to match the coffee color in the background was stamped in Versamark Ink and embossed using the embossing powder that came with the kit. This embossing powder is a  little bit textured cream color. I love it.

Another Stamped image I painted with gold watercolor paint  I bought recently.

I am not very much impressed with the outcome. But I did work very hard with these cards. Want to definitely come up with more ideas for this kit.

I love the Subscription for the My Monthly Hero Card Kit. It is worth the price I pay and the excitement when I receive my monthly parcel is priceless.
