Winter Wishes with a Watercolored Snowman

A Special STAMPtember Release

Every September, Simon Says Stamp brings excitement to the crafting community with its exclusive STAMPtember event. This year, one of the delightful releases colaborated with Memory Box featured a whimsical snowman stamp, which instantly stole my heart. I knew I wanted to create a magical winter scene around it, perfect for sending cozy wishes this holiday season.

Building the Scene

I began by stamping the snowman from the Good Cheer Clear Stamp Set onto watercolor paper. Its crisp outlines made the perfect focal point for my card. From there, I reached for my watercolors to create the snowy night background, allowing shades of blue to blend softly into one another for a frosty sky.

Adding Details with Watercolor

The snowy ground and starry flakes were built up with layers of watercolors and splatters. A cozy little house on the left and a decorated Christmas tree on the right completed the scene, adding charm and balance. These details turned the snowman’s world into a full winter wonderland.

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment “Winter Wishes” at the top in bold black for contrast. Finally, I mounted the panel onto a white card base and paired it with a bright blue envelope, enhancing the cool tones of the design.

Final Thoughts

This project was a joy to make, stamping with freehand watercoloring. The snowman stamp from the STAMPtember release is such a versatile piece, and I love how it shines in a hand-painted snowy scene. This card is sure to bring warmth and cheer during the holiday season.

Hugs,

Jyoti
