There is something so timeless about zodiac imagery, the bold silhouettes, the constellation lines, the quiet symbolism woven into each sign. For this collection, I used the Block Prints Zodiac BetterPress Plates to create five modern, layered designs featuring Leo, Aries, Capricorn, Virgo, and Pisces. Each card combines crisp BetterPress impressions with pattern paper backgrounds, textured layers, and dimensional florals, allowing the celestial artwork to shine while still feeling fresh and handcrafted. I love how this series feels cohesive as a set, yet each color palette reflects the personality and energy of its individual sign.
Ocean Whisper Pisces Zodiac Card
Crisp BetterPress Impression
For this Pisces card, I began with a clean BetterPress impression of the twin fish and constellation from the Block Prints Zodiac collection. The deep black betterpress ink creates beautiful contrast against the white panel, allowing the delicate star details and flowing fish forms to truly stand out. The pressed texture gives it that signature letterpress feel that makes the design look polished and intentional.
Soft Stenciled Polka Background
To create a gentle, water-inspired backdrop, I added soft aqua stenciled dots over the focal image. The subtle inked dots mimics bubbles and movement, perfectly complementing the Pisces theme. I kept the background light and airy so the bold zodiac imagery remains the center of attention.
Framed with Craft Detail
I diecut the pressed panel with and added onto a craft cardstock mat to introduce a hint of elegance. That detailed border border adds sophistication without overpowering the pastel palette. The entire piece was then mounted onto a coordinating aqua patterned layer, creating depth while keeping the color story cohesive.
Floral Balance & Finishing Touches
To soften the graphic lines of the zodiac design, I added layered die-cut florals in blush pink, white, and soft lavender. The greenery frames the right side beautifully, balancing the constellation image. A few subtle embellishments in the flower centers add sparkle, and the card is finished on a crisp white base paired with a soft pink envelope for a romantic, harmonious finish.
Sunlit Leo Zodiac Card
BetterPress Foundation
I started this Leo card by creating a crisp BetterPress impression using the Block Prints Zodiac BetterPress Plate. The bold lion imagery paired with the constellation lines really shines with this technique, so I kept the impression clean and graphic. The strong black ink against white cardstock gives the design a timeless, almost art-print feel that suits Leo’s confident energy perfectly.
Stenciled Striped Background
To bring warmth and drama to the background, I added diagonal yellow stripes using a stencil and yellow ink creating a radiant backdrop that echoes Leo’s sun-ruled personality. I trimmed the panel slightly smaller to keep the design balanced and intentional.
Layered Die-Cut Frame
The focal panel is diecut with a scalloped die and stacked over a cheerful yellow patterned paper. This soft, decorative edge contrasts beautifully with the bold graphic style of the zodiac artwork, adding dimension while keeping the card light and fresh.
Finishing Touches
A small die-cut sun and cloud detail was added in the corner for a playful nod to Leo’s ruling planet. Everything was mounted onto a white card base with a matching yellow envelope, pulling the entire sunny color story together for a polished, uplifting finish.
Celestial Tides Aries Zodiac Card
Pressed Zodiac Artwork
For the Aries card, I began with a BetterPress impression of the ram and constellation, which instantly sets a bold and energetic tone. The strong silhouette of the ram paired with the starry details makes this plate a real showstopper, and I love how crisp the lines look with this technique.
Cool-Toned Stenciled Stripes
The image was then stenciled with stripes in aqua. These horizontal stripes add movement and contrast while keeping the overall palette cool and modern. The stripes peek through the pressed design, adding just the right amount of interest.
Embossed Base Panel
To add texture without competing with the focal panel, I used an embossed teal cardstock for the card base layer. The subtle pattern gives the card depth and interest while still letting the zodiac imagery remain the star of the show.
Floral Accents
I finished the card with die-cut flowers and leaves in coordinating blues and greens. The florals soften the graphic elements and add a handcrafted touch, with a few tiny embellishments in the flower centers for sparkle. The final result feels bold yet beautifully balanced.
Starlit Charm Capricorn Zodiac Card
Classic BetterPress Impression
This Capricorn card starts with a clean BetterPress impression of the goat and constellation, creating a strong focal image with a timeless block-print feel. The fine star details really stand out here, making the design feel both grounded and celestial.
Playful Stenciled Pattern
For the background, I used a stencil with a repeating polka dot design in a warm coral tone. The dots bring in a fun, unexpected contrast to the traditional zodiac imagery, giving the card a modern and slightly whimsical twist.
Patterned Paper Layering
The pressed panel was layered over a coordinating patterned paper mat, adding another layer of color and texture. This step helps frame the focal image while tying the coral tones throughout the design for a cohesive look.
Floral Embellishment Details
To finish the card, I added small die-cut florals and leaves in pinks and greens. These accents soften the bold imagery and add dimension, with tiny gems in the flower centers for a subtle sparkle that elevates the overall design.
Garden of Stars Virgo Zodiac Card
Elegant Pressed Design
For the Virgo card, I created a BetterPress impression featuring the graceful Virgo figure and constellation. The flowing lines and delicate details feel especially elegant on this card, making it a perfect match for Virgo’s refined personality.
Fresh Green Stripes
The background was created using soft green diagonal stenciled stripes. This fresh color palette feels calm and earthy, complementing the Virgo imagery while still adding a touch of color through stenciling.
Soft Patterned Backdrop
I layered the focal panel over a pink gingham patterned paper, which adds warmth and a cozy, handcrafted feel. The contrast between the structured zodiac artwork and the soft pattern keeps the design visually interesting.
Bold Floral Finishing
Large die-cut flowers in bright pink were added around the panel to frame the design and add drama. The layered petals and contrasting centers give the card beautiful dimension, while the greenery ties everything together for a lush, garden-inspired finish.
I had so much fun bringing these zodiac signs to life with BetterPress plates the combination of crisp impressions and thoughtful details makes each card feel special and personal. Whether you’re creating for birthdays or just celebrating someone’s star sign, this collection is such a beautiful way to add a meaningful, celestial touch to your handmade cards.

Jyoti
