Christmas Card using Ornate Ornaments Stamp and Die set

Today I am presenting theĀ  Christmas cards made using Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2018 limited edition release stamp and die set called Ornate Ornaments. This stamp set is so beautifully made. The detail in the ornaments is stunning.

Here are the cards for today:

There are 5 different ornaments in the Ornate Ornaments stamp set. I stamped all of them in blue green and red card-stocks using Versamark Ink. Embossed with platinum on green, silver on blue and gold on red. Also matted the green blue and red panels with matching metallic cardstock that is slightly larger than the panel. Finally foam-mounted the panel on 4 and a quarter by 5 and a half side folding card bases.

Here’s another card I created with the Simon Says Stamp Ornate Ornaments Stamp and Die set:

I went with just gold and craft on this card and of course a lot of embossing. Stamped the ornament images with Versamark inkĀ  and embossed with gold on heat resistant acetate. I die cut the craft card panel with the matching dies aligning the images that was stamped on acetate. Then I layered ton of foam tapes at the back trying my best to seal around the ornaments so I could put some silver sequins inside to create a shaker card. I thought the craft panel was still a little plain so i smooshed the Versamark ink around the edges and embossed with gold embossing powder again. I loved how organic the edge looks. Stamped the sentiment in the middle saying Wishing you Joy and yes you guessed it embossed again.

I did not plan this card this way in the beginning. Instead I went with what looked good and improvised as I was going. Hence lots of embossing after the acetate sheet was already attached. That caused even the heat resistant acetate to warp a little. But lesson learnt.

I loved how it turned out anyway. Let me know what you guys think in the comment below.

Hugs

Jyoti
