There’s something so cheerful about pairing soft florals with bold die-cut elements, and this card came together with that exact idea in mind. I wanted to create a design that felt light, fresh, and perfect for celebrating a birthday while still keeping the focus on a strong focal arrangement.
Floral Focal Point
I started by building the main design using the Nordic Pendant Flower dies. I chose a soft blend of blues and purples for the bell-shaped flowers, adding just a hint of shading to keep everything looking clean and modern. The leafy stems in a warm green help ground the design and add a natural flow across the card front.
Layered Background
For the background, I used a pretty floral pattern paper in pink tones to instantly bring warmth and detail. To help the focal image stand out, I layered a heart shape from the Fringed Heart Frames behind the flowers. I lightly ink blended the heart with soft yellow and lavender tones, giving it a subtle glow without overpowering the design.
Dimension & Details
The die-cut flowers were popped up with foam adhesive to create dimension and movement. I love how the curved stems naturally guide your eye across the card. The delicate fringe detail around the heart adds just enough texture without making the card feel busy.
Finishing Touches
To complete the card, I added the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Happy Birthday Tender Script dies. The bold script style pairs beautifully with the soft florals and ties everything together. I mounted the panel on a white card base and paired it with a coordinating pink envelope for a polished finish.
This card is a great example of how a few well-chosen dies and soft color blending can create something elegant yet simple. Perfect for when you want a beautiful birthday card without using too many techniques!
