Springish Fiesta / Joy Clair Designs Release

Hello Everyone!

I am so excited to participate in this Blog Hop showcasing the new release of Joy Clair Designs Springish Fiesta Collection 2022.

For my post today I have created two cards.

My First Card

Joy Clair Designs

I printed the heart image from the Always in Style Stamp set and the sentiment on a white card-stock. I cut the image using my silhouette cameo leaving a white border around the image. Then I foiled the image with gold foil and the laminating machine.

Started coloring the image using Copic markers. Used R24 R27 R29 for the heart. G24 G28 G29 for the leaves and vines and finally, C07 C05 and C04 for the lock.

Because the image was busy with foiling and coloring already I wanted the background to be really plain. So I embossed a black card-stock panel with the Spellbinders embossing folder that was out on my desk for another project already.

Added the image and the sentiment from Good Luck Stamp set beneath it using foam tape for dimension. To finish off I added some gold pearls and the card was done.

Second Card

Usually my cards contains floral image and I am very comfortable with picking the design and color choices with floral cards. But this time I really challenged myself to use very different images than my regular floral cards.

For my second card today I picked this cute lollipops image from Joy Clair Good Luck Digital stamp set. Picked some of the lightest colors that I owned in my Copic collection in order to give these lollipops a transparent look.

When I printed the image I added the subtle floral textured pattern behind the image. I used R00, V12,B000 for the lollipops and R27 R29 for the ribbons, and finally E34 and E49 for the chocolate drips.

I had to add a little depth around the candy part of the lollipop to create roundness. Just similar color in slightly darker shades of Prismacolor pencils did the trick.

Finally finished off this card with a sentiment from Truly Inspire Stamp set and some white gel pen highlights wherever I thought would look good. My card was done.

EDS/HSD AWARENESS MONTH AND HOP

Hello Everyone! May is EDS/HSD awareness month.

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a disease that weakens the connective tissues of your body. Connective tissues are tendons and ligaments that hold parts of your body together. EDS can make your joints loose and your skin thin and easily bruised. It also can weaken blood vessels and organs.

There’s no cure for EDS, but the symptoms can often be treated and managed only if it is diagnosed.

I feel so proud to be a part of this special event where a bunch of card-makers and crafters join hands to raise awareness about EDS/HSD DESEASE.

Our card-maker friend Natasha Davies who suffers from this illness herself also found out about this disease from an awareness campaign on a radio. That is why she wanted to give back to the community by raising awareness to other people who may be suffering from this illness and do not know about it.

We,

The Card

Here is my special card I made for this event.

This beautiful digital image is by Alex Syberia. And here is a link to where you can purchase this image:

For this card I colored this image using copic markers in pinks and greens.

The background is created using Cover Die from Neat and Tangled. I love how this creates texture but the white on white is still not taking away from the beautiful floral image.

Stay strong sentiment

The floral image is adhered on foam tape for extra dimension. I added this to an A2 size top folding card base made of heavyweight white card stock.

I finally added some silver sparkling Stickles on the stamens of the flowers.

This completes the card. Here are some other images of the card.

The Ribbon

Let me share this Ribbon I drew with black and white to represent the EDS/HSD awareness month with some fun intricate henna patterns. I used Micron pen in Pt3 to draw and fill inside this ribbon.

I feel so proud and honored for my friends wanted to use this design as their logo in this hop.

I am very thankful for my friends and I will always cherish them. The saying CRAFTY FRIENDS ARE THE BEST proved itself to be true.
