Fall Leaves Thankful Card

Fall leaves have so many varieties and colors. It is so fun to create a fall thankful cards with a bunch of fall leaves in them. This one is special as the fall leaves are not just die cut but also embroidered.

Hello Everyone

Today I am sharing a card with you that features the Small Die Of The Month for September ’22. This die set has a bunch of fall leaves and it’s shadow layer. Also some fall theme word dies that will create a fun fall sentiment when mixed and matched. What’s so special about this die is the fall leaves have holes in them where you can stitch through and create an embroidered leaves.

Now let’s get to the making of the card.

Card Base

I chose a mini slimline size for my card today. Mini slimline is 3 and a half inches wide and 6 and a half inches long. Mine is a horizontal top folding card base made out of Accent Opaque 110 lb card-stock from Amazon.

Decorating My Fall Background

I used another piece of the white card-stock to emboss using the Embossing Folder of the Month for September ’22 and adhered it on the card-front using liquid glue. The burlap piece you see here on the card is a burlap ribbon which was wide enough to place a die cut leafy border over it. The leafy border is from APG Die Of The Month for August ’22. My cards base with the background is done.

The Main Focus

The main focus of the card are these leaves created with the Small Die Of The Month Club for September ’22. I used Spellbinders Terra Cotta Color Essential Card-stock to cut the leaves. The stitching on the leaves is the most special part of this whole card-making process here. I used gold embroidery thread for the stitching. Then I added a gold die cut shadow layer behind them. I used mini glue dots to adhere the embroidered leaf on to the gold layer. I used two different leaves as you can see. The three leaves are then adhered on the border with liquid glue.

The Sentiment

For the sentiment a simple die cut Thankful cut out with one of the dies from the Large Die Of The Month for Sep ’22 was just perfect for this card. As there are a lot of layers and so much going on just a simple sentiment finishes the card.

I loved how my card turned out. Honestly I couldn’t stop staring at this card in awe after I was done creating it. What are your thoughts about it? I hope this inspires you to create a fun fall card with any leaf dies you have. Happy Crafting!!
