Merry & Bright Nordic Angel Card

Today I’m sharing a soft, earthy, and heart-warming Christmas card featuring the sweetest little angel from the Nordic Winter Magic Release. I paired the Nordic Sweet Angel Craft Die from Poppystamps with one of my own mixed-media background pieces, and the combination turned into something I absolutely loved — gentle colors, beautiful texture, and that quiet holiday glow that Nordic designs always bring.

The Background

For the background, I reached for a mixed media panel I had created earlier. I love having pieces like this on hand, each one has its own personality, its own organic movement, and it always gives a unique foundation to build on. This particular panel has earthy browns, soft greens, touches of warm gold, and splatters that almost feel like falling holiday magic. The subtle leaf impressions peeking through add an unexpected layer of elegance without overwhelming the card.

The Focal Angel

The angel comes together so beautifully with this die set. I cut all the pieces from warm shades of yellow, green, and orange, keeping the palette cozy and slightly rustic to match the background. The dress layers have the prettiest Nordic details, and the wings stack so nicely to give her a dimensional, almost storybook look. Her little face, her halo, the scalloped dress, every piece fits together so sweetly.

Assembly & Details

Once she was assembled, I placed her right at the center of the textured background. Because the background already had so much movement, the angel didn’t need anything else around her, she stands out all on her own. For the sentiment, I used the Merry and Bright foiled tab from Memory Box – Merry and Bright Foil Tabs). The gold foil on white ties into the background and adds just the right finishing touch without taking attention away from the angel.

Final Look

I mounted the panel on a clean white card base, letting the artwork stay the focus. The overall look is warm, festive, and filled with that timeless Nordic charm. This card feels like something you’d tuck into a holiday gift, place on a mantle, or save as one of those special keepsakes.

I hope this inspires you to mix a little artistic texture with your die-cutting. The Nordic Sweet Angel is such a beautiful piece, and pairing it with a handmade background makes her feel even more magical. Thank you for stopping by today. I’ll see you soon with more ideas from the Nordic Winter Magic release.

Hugs,

Jyoti
