Spellbinders Tinsel Time Collection

Spellbinders’ new release of the Tinsel Time Collection is all about Christmas and Holiday Season.

Hello everyone!

Today I am here with two cards I have created with some of the products from the Tinsel Time collection. On my cards I am featuring three of the products from this release.

My First Card

My first card features the HOLIDAY EXPRESS ETCHED DIES FROM THE TINSEL TIME COLLECTION

Here is my first card.

Focus

As usual I started by die cutting the parts of the Holiday Express with Spellbinders Card-stocks. I used:

Then I added all the pieces and the layers with liquid glue. It was very easy to understand where each piece goes once you die cut all the pieces.

Shaker Feature

As a special feature on my card I wanted to create a fun shaker window. I die-cut a panel of white card-stock with a circle die in the middle. Then I embossed it using the Argyle Socks Embossing folder which is from another collection that is also launching this month. It is called Gnome For Christmas Collection. Which is another fun Christmas theme collection. I added a piece of acetate behind the circle and double layer of foam tape around it.

All About Dimension

Adding double layer of foam tape makes it easy for all the sequins to move around freely with extra height. I took a panel of pattern paper and added it to the front of my card base. Then I added the embossed panel with the sequins behind the window. After that the assembled holiday express comes in play. I added it with foam tape so my card now has a dimension of 3 layers of foam tape. I love adding a lot of dimension on my cards.

Thereafter I added a strip of black and white striped scrap piece beneath the holiday express and a stamped and embossed sentiment that says Merry Christmas to finish off my card.

My Second Card

This card is my favorite out of the two. This card features the Holiday Express Die Set and the STARBURST GLIMMER HOT FOIL PLATE FROM THE TINSEL TIME COLLECTION

And the TINSEL TIME SENTIMENTS ETCHED DIES FROM THE TINSEL TIME COLLECTION

Here is my second card

Focus

For this card I created the Holiday express by die-cutting the pieces with

The holiday express is all assembled and ready to go on a card.

The glimmer Foiled Background

I had recently purchased the Glimmer Hot Foil System from Spellbinders and some glimmer foils. The one I used on this card is the Glimmer foil in color Aura on Spellbinders Raindrop Card-stock which is this lovely sky blue color. The glimmer foil Aura is not like any other gold. It has this faceted speckles that look stunning in certain lighting. It is really hard to capture that in photos.

I took a piece of vellum and die cut an arch with the Essential Arches Die Set. Also cut a thin border for the vellum piece using two arches die with a light blue card-stock from my stash which a a little lighter than the background. The vellum piece wit the border is added with thin foam tape. And then the holiday express train is added on foam tape on the vellum arched window.

Sentiment

For the sentiment on this card I used the words winter and cheer from the Tinsel Time Sentiment Die set. I love the font of these dies. Also, there’s a ton of words you can mix and match to create perfect holiday sentiments. I used white for the shadow and gold for the words. Then I added it on foam tape on the pretty foiled panel underneath the arch vellum window. Before that I had added a strip of silver ribbon behind the sentiment.

As an embellishment, I added some clear flat sequins from my stash in a group of three on the window. And that finished my card today. This one is my favorite of the two cards I created with the Tinsel Time Collection.

So, I hope this inspires you. Happy crafting!!

Hugs,

I absolutely love your cards. Love that train set too. You really made that train come to life. I enjoy making shaker cards too.
