A Nordic Forest Card Full of Charm

There’s something undeniably heartwarming about woodland scenes in cozy Nordic style, especially when a sweet little fox is dressed for the occasion! For today’s card, I’m featuring some of the latest Poppystamps products in a layered, textured design that combines warmth, whimsy, and dimension. Let me walk you through how I brought this forest birthday scene to life.

Die Cutting the Star: Nordic Happy Fox

The Nordic Happy Fox takes center stage on my card. I die cut the fox pieces using a combination of cream and brown cardstock for a soft, natural look. His adorable sweater—a cozy two-layer piece—was cut from red cardstock, adding the perfect pop of cheerful color. I love how his outfit gives him a festive, ready-for-a-party vibe!

Matching Accents: Nordic Button Mushrooms

To complement the fox, I die cut the Nordic Button Mushrooms using the same cream and red cardstock. These mushrooms are the perfect whimsical accents for the woodland scene, and their matching colors tie everything together beautifully.

A Touch of Texture: Nordic Heart Pattern Rings

For an added layer of detail and texture, I brought in the Nordic Heart Pattern Rings. I used white cardstock to keep the frame neutral yet eye-catching. It gives the design a soft, lacy feel and creates a perfect little window for my woodland vignette.

Layering the Background: Mixing Pattern Papers

I chose two pattern papers that contrast nicely but still feel cohesive:

I layered them in a criss-cross pattern on my card front, creating an eye-catching base full of holiday warmth and rustic charm.

Assembling the Scene: Foam Tape Dimension

I added the heart frame with foam tape for a raised focal point.
Then I placed the fox on the left side of the heart using a double layer of foam tape, making him stand out.
On the right side, I layered the larger mushroom with one layer of foam tape, and then added the smaller mushroom on top using another layer—giving the scene dynamic depth.

Finishing Touch: Birthday Sentiment

To complete the card, I added a “Happy Birthday” sentiment using the Foil Greetings Black Tab tucked just below the main scene. It grounds the design while adding a clean, modern finish.

Thanks for Stopping By!

This card was such a joy to create—from the rich textures to the layered colors and charming Nordic details. Whether you’re making birthday cards or building up your stash of woodland-themed designs, I hope this inspires you to mix patterns, play with dimension, and embrace cozy color combos.
