The holiday season is the perfect time to craft with shimmer, texture, and joy-and the new Merry Moments Collection from Spellbinders brings all of that and more. Today I’m sharing four holiday cards featuring the Christmas Cameos 3D Embossing Folder, Petite Criss Cross Press Plate, Gifting Bow Etched Dies, and Merry Moments Dimensional Snowflakes. Each card highlights a different combination of these stunning products, and I hope they inspire you as much as they inspired me.
Card 1: Pink Ornaments & Gold Bows
Embossed Elegance
I began this card by embossing a piece of white cardstock with the Christmas Cameos 3D Embossing Folder. The beautiful oval and bow motifs add instant vintage charm and so much texture. After embossing, I lightly ink-blended soft pink ink across the surface to emphasize the raised areas and bring out the intricate details.
A Touch of Shine
The focal point is built using the Gifting Bow Etched Dies. I die cut the main bow from mirror gold cardstock, which immediately brought warmth and shine to the soft background. I layered it directly onto the embossed panel for dimension and contrast.
Dangling Delights
I added three pink ornaments below the bow using the small bauble elements included in the same die set. They were cut from coordinating pink cardstock, and I added subtle detailing to them for texture. I love how they look like they’re gently hanging from the ribbon tails.
Sentiment Centerpiece
For the sentiment, I used the “A Gift for You” banner from the Gifting Bow Etched Dies. Die cut in the same mirror gold, it sits perfectly across the bow and pulls the whole composition together. A few gems add sparkle and finish off this pretty-in-pink design.
Card 2: Elegant Snowflake Trio
Background Beauty
For this card, I used the Petite Criss Cross Press Plate on white cardstock with a soft blue ink. This subtle pattern reminded me of cozy winter sweaters and created a calming base for my snowflakes.
Snowflake Showcase
The stars of the card are the three delicate snowflakes from the Merry Moments Dimensional Snowflakes set. I layered vellum and white cardstock for each flake and added dimensional adhesive between the layers for height and visual interest. A clear gem in the center of each flake adds a magical, frosty sparkle.
Gilded Words
I chose a sentiment from my foil greeting stash that says “Merry & Bright.” The banner shape works beautifully over the center snowflake, and I die cut it from gold cardstock to coordinate with the soft icy theme.
Balanced Layout
I positioned the snowflakes in a vertical line and balanced the layout by spacing them evenly. The top and bottom snowflakes help frame the sentiment, and the pale tones allow the shimmer to stand out without overwhelming the soft background.
Card 3: Pink & Black Snowflake Statement
Bold Embossing
This time I went bold by using the Christmas Cameos 3D Embossing Folder again, but with dark cardstock. After embossing, I lightly brushed the raised areas with metallic pink ink, which gave the card a dramatic vintage look with a modern twist.
Focal Frame
To build my focal area, I used an oval frame die in gold and layered it with pink cardstock on top. This oval serves as a clean canvas for the snowflake, helping it pop off the textured background.
Delicate Dimensional Snowflake
I used one of the Merry Moments Dimensional Snowflakes, again layered with vellum and glittery white cardstock. The snowflake was mounted with foam tape in the center of the oval, and I placed a rhinestone in the middle to make it sparkle even more.
Clean Sentiment
This time, I chose the “Merry & Bright” sentiment banner in crisp white with a hint of gold shadow. The banner stretches across the bottom of the oval and ties together the light and dark contrasts on the card perfectly.
Card 4: Festive Floral Surprise
Cozy Background
For the background, I returned to the Petite Criss Cross Press Plate, this time using a soft blush ink. The pattern gives off a stitched, homey vibe—perfect for the warm feel of this floral design.
Layered Focal Arrangement
The showstopper is the large pink poinsettia, which I built using the floral pieces in the Gifting Bow Etched Dies. I layered multiple petal cuts in pink and added gray and metallic gold foliage around it for contrast and holiday flair.
Ribbon Drama
To frame the floral cluster, I used the large bow again from the Gifting Bow Etched Dies, cutting it from mirror gold. It arches beautifully around the poinsettia and gives the card a luxe presentation.
Sentiment Finish
The banner sentiment, “A Gift for You,” was die cut from white cardstock and layered with a slight shadow using pink for a subtle lift. The softness of the colors and the dimensional floral centerpiece make this card feel like a wrapped present in itself.
I absolutely loved creating with the Merry Moments Collection by Spellbinders.
