Spellbinders Stamp And Die Club Nov 22

The Stamp and Die Club for Nov 22 from Spellbinders is this unique floral motif stamp with some beautifully designed sentiments. It also has coordinating die sets to cut out the motif images and sentiments.

It is called Diamond and Arch Motif and here’s what it looks like:

For my card today I used a simple heat embossing technique. Here’s my take on it.

Spellbinders Stamp and die club for Nov 22

For the background, I wanted a clean and simple white background with a little texture. I used the Embossing Folder of the month for November 22 in a white panel of Neenah Cardstock.

For the main focus of my card, I heat embossed the larger of the two arch motif images with gold embossing powder. I used Spellbinders Terra Cotta card stock and then die-cut the image using its coordinating die.

Since I placed the image on the left-hand bottom corner, I wanted the sentiment to be on the right-hand top corner to balance my composition. For the sentiment, I stamped and embossed “sending love”

Here you can see the shine of the gold embossing on the terra cotta cardstock. I love how it looks.

With this, I finished my card today. I did not think this card required any extra embellishment.

Did this inspire you??

Foiling Fun And Lots Of cards

Foiling is so much fun and you can create lots of cards in no time. Today I am featuring this Glimmer Hot Foil Club Of The Month for Nov 22. This month we have “Glimmer Edged Stylized Floral” plate and die set and Glimmer Hot Foil Aura. I am excited as I have a lot of cards to share with you today.

Hello everyone,

Today I’m sharing all together 6 cards, all created with the Glimmer Hot Foil of the month for Nov 22. Before I have my hot foil machine out and ready to start foiling I like to cut a few card-stocks and foils and be ready with the glimmer plate. Because once you have your hot foil machine ready and hot it’s a lot easier to foil a bunch of images and die cut.

Here is what this plate for this month looks like:

This hot foil plate is just one piece but it creates a bunch of images at once. This set also contains a die that cuts out each individual image all at once. Isn’t that convenient? Now you know how I created 6 cards at one sitting. The rest is all arranging these images on your card front.

Card Base

Since I was going to create 6 cards; after getting all the images foiled and die cut ready to go on the cards, I cut 6 card bases all at once and then scored and folded. My cards measure 4 and a quarter by 5 and a half inches in dimensions.

I have three different backgrounds on my cards today. The first two cards have this cream embossed background. In order to create these I used The Embossing Folder of the Month for Nov 22 on Spellbinders on a panel of Portobello Color Essential Card-stock. The other two are embossed Lunar Gray Card-stock and the last two are just Brushed Black Card-stock which is a very pretty shimmery black. I didn’t emboss the black panels as they look pretty as is.

All my cards today focus on these beautiful foiled floral images . I foiled red, cream and grey card stocks using the glimmer foil of the month foil plate. I used Aura Glimmer Foil on all these cards today.

Then I arranged some floral pieces on each panel mixing and matching the colors. All these arrangements are different if you noticed them. After I was happy with the arrangements I started adhering them on my card panels. I added some with glue and some with foam tape.

This foil plate set contains one sentiment and also the die to cut it. But you don’t have to foil and cut this separately. All the flowers and sentiment is gust one foil plate and one die. That’s what I love about this set.

Finally to embellish my cards I added some Fashion Gold Embellishment from Spellbinders.

This finished my cards. It took me about an hour and a half to create all these beautiful cards. Also I don’t think too much about the card design. I usually go with whatever feels right to me at the moment when it comes to designing cards. So were these cards inspiring? Let me know. I would love to hear your thoughts about them.

Happy foiling!!

Floral Reflection Collection

My feature for today’s post is this Floral Reflection Collection, a brand new release by Spellbinders for Nov 22.

Hello everyone!

I have created three cards using three of the products from this release.

With Love Foiled Card

The beautiful foiled and colored image is my main focus on this card. I foiled the floral design on a Spellbinders White Card-stock with GLIMMER HOT FOIL ROLL – GOLD. This design foiled beautifully on a white card-stock. I then picked a few of my favorite Copic colors in oranges and pinks and started coloring the image. Don’t be surprised if I tell you this was my first time coloring a hot foiled image with alcohol markers. Oh how I loved that I didn’t have to worry about staying in the lines. You know why? It’s because the foiled lines just resisted the color. After the coloring was done I die cut the image using the outline die that is included in this set.

The colored focal image was just so beautiful I wanted a plain background for my card. The reason is I wanted no other distraction on this project. So you can just admire the focal image. But I wanted to add some textures to the otherwise plain and simple background. So, I dry embossed the Spellbinders black card-stock with Spreading Love Embossing Folder which was the Embossing Folder of the month for January 22.

This Hot Foil plate set also contains two sentients, one says “With Love” and the other one says “Just For You”. This set also has two sentiment strip dies to cut the foiled sentiments out. I will be using both of these sentiments on my cards today. For this first card I used the “With Love” . I foiled a bunch of these sentiments in black card-stock and white card-stock with gold hot foil. Usually I like to get quite a few of these ready for future also.

I added a few Spellbinders Fashion Gold Embellishment to decorate my card and to finish it off. Then I moved on to my second card.

Just For You Floral Bunch Card

Firstly, I created the focus of this card with a bunch of flowers in a heart. I began by die-cutting some flowers and leaves with Spellbinders Color Essential Card-stocks in pinks and oranges. After that I also die cut a heart with yellow card-stock. I believe this is the second largest from the set. Then I arranged the flowers in a bunch coming out from the bottom of the heart and cutting the long stems off.

I created a background same way as I did for my first card.

I used a “Just for You ” sentiment for this card. I foiled it with gold on black card-stock.

Same as before I added some gold pearls to decorate my card.

My second card is ready.

With Love Floral Heart Card

This card is similar to the second card. The only difference is the arrangement of the flowers and the sentiment. Also the heart i in different color. But this card also features the ESSENTIAL HEARTS ETCHED DIES FROM THE FLORAL REFLECTION COLLECTION and SEALED BOUQUET ETCHED DIES FROM THE FLORAL REFLECTION COLLECTION

I crated a focal image on this card by die-cutting a heart in green card-stock and arranging the flowers in a way that it looks like a pattern. All the flowers are coming in from all corners. Some flowers are added with liquid glue and some are added on foam tape. So there are different levels of dimension. It’s easier to die-cut and assemble a whole lot of flowers and then you come up with ideas to arrange them differently.

All my cards today have the same background. I love how this rainbow of hearts goes so well with all my cards. It takes the ‘deciding on the background’ part away so you can create a lot of cards in no time. Also these cards look like a set.

The sentiment on this card is “with love”. Which is foiled using one of the sentiment from GLIMMERING JUST FOR YOU GLIMMER HOT FOIL PLATE & DIE SET FROM THE FLORAL REFLECTION COLLECTION. Same like the background I like to hot foil a couple of sentiments when I have my GLIMMER HOT FOIL SYSTEM out.

Again I wouldn’t leave this card without embellishment. So, I used the Fashion Gold Embellishment in groups of three on to right and bottom left of this card to finish this card.

I am in love with these cards. Hope you like them too. So, was I able to inspire you to create somewhat similar to what I have created here? Let me know.

Foiled Holiday Cards / Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Club Oct 22

I’ve always loved the look of foiled cards, specially foiled holiday cards are my favorite. The Glimmer Hot Foil Club for Oct 22 from Spellbinders contain a beautiful Winter floral glimmer plate and holiday sentiments with their coordinating dies. This is my first time playing with the Glimmer Club from Spellbinders and I had so much fun.

Here are the three cards I created as I couldn’t stop with just one.

Merry Christmas Foiled Card

The first idea I had in my mind is to foil this image on a light blue card-stock. This is not Christmas color for sure but it makes me think of winter. I used Spellbinders Waterfall color essential card-stock and Aura foil to foil this image. I used Prismacolor pencil in blue shades to color this image a little bit. I think this image itself just foiled alone is so pretty.

Then I cut this image using the coordinating die. For the background I used Cosmic Sky color essential card-stock. I foiled one of the sentiment that says Merry Christmas directly towards the lower left of the panel. Adhered the background with liquid glue and the flower with foam tape behind it on an A2 size card-base. Finally I added some jewels from my stash to finish this card.

Here are some of the photos in different angles.

Foiled On Vellum Holiday Cheer Card

I’ve loved the look of foiling on vellum. I wanted to try how these glimmer plates foil on vellum. I took a half sheet of Spellbinders Vellum and foiled this image on one side using the Polished Brass Foil. It worked perfectly. There were just a few bits of over-foiling around the edges but that was easily removed with an eraser.

I then carefully cut just half of the image with the die using the partial die-cutting method. Using a ruler and a craft knife I cut the rest of the portion of the image in a line. Then I took another piece of Cosmic sky card-stock and wrapped the vellum on the upper side foiling the edges and taping them at the back. This way I don’t have to glue the vellum as the glue would have been visible under the transparent vellum if I did so.

Then I foiled the sentiment Holiday Cheer on the Waterfall card-stock using the same foil. After die cutting it with the coordinating die I added it towards the bottom right of the panel. Then added it to a landscape style top folding A2 card-base. Embellished it with some jewels as well.

Here are some more photos.

Foiled Winter Wishes Card

For my last but not least card I foiled the image on Waterfall card-stock with Aura Foil. I then die cut it. I also foiled and die cut a sentiment that says Winter Wishes on a piece of the Waterfall card-stock. Then for the background I took a slightly smaller piece of Cosmic Sky card-stock and embossed it using the Embossing Folder of the month for Oct 22 which is called Scattered Christmas.

Then I simply added the flower in the middle of the panel and the sentiment on the flower. If I had done it any differently I would’ve created the sentiment in darker color as it is not so visible. Thats’ for next time.

Here are some other photos of this card.

Im sure there are tons of ways you can use the glimmer foil plates. I already have some ideas to use the glimmer foil plate like this next time I create a card.

Hope this was inspiring to you all. Happy crafting!!

Christmas Card using Ornate Ornaments Stamp and Die set

Today I am presenting the  Christmas cards made using Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2018 limited edition release stamp and die set called Ornate Ornaments. This stamp set is so beautifully made. The detail in the ornaments is stunning.

Here are the cards for today:

There are 5 different ornaments in the Ornate Ornaments stamp set. I stamped all of them in blue green and red card-stocks using Versamark Ink. Embossed with platinum on green, silver on blue and gold on red. Also matted the green blue and red panels with matching metallic cardstock that is slightly larger than the panel. Finally foam-mounted the panel on 4 and a quarter by 5 and a half side folding card bases.

Here’s another card I created with the Simon Says Stamp Ornate Ornaments Stamp and Die set:

I went with just gold and craft on this card and of course a lot of embossing. Stamped the ornament images with Versamark ink  and embossed with gold on heat resistant acetate. I die cut the craft card panel with the matching dies aligning the images that was stamped on acetate. Then I layered ton of foam tapes at the back trying my best to seal around the ornaments so I could put some silver sequins inside to create a shaker card. I thought the craft panel was still a little plain so i smooshed the Versamark ink around the edges and embossed with gold embossing powder again. I loved how organic the edge looks. Stamped the sentiment in the middle saying Wishing you Joy and yes you guessed it embossed again.

I did not plan this card this way in the beginning. Instead I went with what looked good and improvised as I was going. Hence lots of embossing after the acetate sheet was already attached. That caused even the heat resistant acetate to warp a little. But lesson learnt.

I loved how it turned out anyway. Let me know what you guys think in the comment below.
